This webcast, delivered by Tim Newton, explores techniques for alleviating the anxiety of dental patients. It looks at the importance of assessment, highlighting simple ways to evaluate how anxious your patients are and focus on intervening at a level proportionate to the amount of anxiety your patient is experiencing. Techniques discussed range from ensuring that the patient’s journey through the dental setting is calm and relaxing, through to medium level interventions of modelling and preparatory information and also high level interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
